About this site;
“Darts, Beers & BDO Cheers” is dedicated to the men and women of the BDO Darts organisation (I have another site for the PDC and it’s Pros), and the thousands of people who enjoy this amazing sport. THIS SITE IS INDEPENDENT (run by fans) and UNOFFICIAL, and any posts made are not sanctioned or approved by the British Darts Organisation, although I obviously will share ‘official’ press releases and information. Therefore take everything as my own opinion and not the words of the BDO or it’s officials.
If you’ve not yet seen or been to a big televised Darts tournament, you may be surprised at what an amazing night of entertainment it is. Darts started and hopefully always will be as a pub sport, so will forever be working class and linked to beer – hurrah! The BDO (British Darts Organisation) oversees and organises darts across the spectrum of players, from pub, Superleague, county, and professional. This site is here to celebrate those players and the games they play.
The jewel in the BDO darts crown is the Lakeside World Championship – which takes place January every year, and is essential BBC (and now ESPN) viewing. 3-4,000,000 people watch the darts on the BBC, showing that it’s no minority sport.
This site also will feature news from the EDO (English Darts Organisation), WDF (World darts federation), and LDO (Ladies Darts Organisation), as they are other ‘non PDC’ grass roots darts organisations.

This site is a ‘fansite’ – run by fans, for the fans of darts and the BDO . We aren’t ‘official’, so can say what we like (within reason and the law! 
), and the content is written by us the fans. So if you think you can string a few words together about the game of darts or a darts player within the BDO – please contact me! Tell me your ideas, and we’ll work together.

I’m your webmaster, Kristian ‘Krispy’ Brown. 41, Male, Married, one cat. Darts fan, throw the odd dart on occasion (Red Dragon Element 6, 26g, and Fit flight set-up)… I now play for Stilton Country Club darts team in the Peterborough clubs league.

Paul Gillings
Paul Gillings is a qualified Sports Performance Analyst and mad about darts! He has a Masters degree from the University of Wales Institute in Cardiff (UWIC) in the Performance Analysis of Sport and also has a degree in Football Studies from Southampton Solent University.
Paul gives up his time to contribute articles to this site – especially around the time of Lakeside, when his great guides and stats round-up’s help those new to the BDO to get to know the players, and how to bet. Paul runs the Darts Performance Centre helping darts players improve their game.
